Physical therapy (PT) is a rehabilitation service that is provided only by licensed physical therapists and/or physical therapist assistants (PTA). It is often required after a recent surgery/trauma, but can also be greatly helpful with chronic conditions. Whether your injury is new or old, surgical or non-surgical, PT can effectively increase range of motion, strength, balance, and improve overall daily function. Treatment under the supervision of a therapist is vital to getting you back to work, sport, and everyday activities
You just underwent a recent surgery or got injured and your doctor says you need PT, but you are not sure what is covered by your insurance. We understand. At M&M, we will always verify your benefits prior to your initial appointment so patients know what they will be responsible for and can prepare financially. We will also let you know what you need prior to scheduling, i.e. prescriptions, referrals, etc.
Based on your doctor’s prescription and upon your initial PT examination, your physical therapist will advise you on how often and how long PT will be required. Depending on the diagnosis, patients may be seen anywhere from 1 to 3 or more times a week. Sessions are also based on each case, but usually averaging about an hour. Routine re-evaluations are performed to note your progressive improvement and will guide your doctor and therapist in regard to how long you will need to continue PT.
Many patients are concerned about seeing the same therapist each session, often due to negative experiences from other facilities where each appointment was conducted by a different person. At M&M we pride ourselves on building a rapport with our patients and treat each case with personal attention and detail. While there are times other clinicians and PTAs may assist in your treatment, each of our therapists make every attempt to treat their patients and carefully supervise their progress. Each of our offices has its own staff creating a very caring and familiar environment.
Each of our three offices are located in south Jersey but receive cases beyond the tri-state area. Click here for office locations, telephone/fax numbers and hours. You can also CONTACT US with any questions.
As our slogan states, You have a choice. While your physician, relative, or neighbor may recommend where to go for PT, it is ultimately and solely up to each patient as to where they want to receive treatment. With so many options, choosing a facility can be overwhelming. At M&M Physical Therapy, we pride ourselves and center our practice on making your goals our top priority. We make sure you feel comfortable in our office, individualize a treatment program just for you, and answer all of your questions. Our practice focuses on the science of rehabilitation with the art of caring and compassion.
